Revisiting the Oscars latest episode sees us head back 20 years to 2001 where we visit Middle Earth for the first time, back in those heady days before cinematic universes and all sorts changed the nature of blockbuster filmmaking!
Alongside ‘Lord of the Rings‘ we’ve also got Baz Luhrmann’s trippy musical extravaganza ‘Moulin Rouge‘, Russell Crowe in ‘A Beautiful Mind‘, little remembered drama ‘In the Bedroom‘ and our third encounter with friend of the pod, Mr. Robert Altman, with ‘Gosford Park‘.
Usual features all apply, with some more Corrie spotting, shit jobs in film contenders and more shoehorned in references to Wigan, plus a look back at what was happening in our lives 20 years ago…
