I’m happy to announce the release of the first official UpLateAtNightAgain podcast, which I hope will become a regular monthly feature.
Instead of focusing on current releases, which are likely to be outdated by the time I get round to watching them, reviewing them, and recording the podcast, a couple of friends and I have decided to focus on a specific genre, and each pick a film that we’d like to watch from that category. After this, we’ll get together and chat through what we thought of the films.
For the first month, we’ve gone for something fairly generic, albeit a film topic that’s very much part of the current conversation – Superhero Movies.
The films we each picked were,
Batman (1989)
(Directed by Tim Burton)
The Dark Knight of Gotham City begins his war on crime with his first major enemy being the clownishly homicidal Joker.
X-Men: First Class (2011)
(Directed by Matthew Vaughn)
In 1962, the United States government enlists the help of Mutants with superhuman abilities to stop a malicious dictator who is determined to start world war III.
The Amazing Spider-man (2012)
(Directed by Marc Webb)
Peter Parker finds a clue that might help him understand why his parents disappeared when he was young. His path puts him on a collision course with Dr. Curt Connors, his father’s former partner.
Hope you found our musings interesting, and if you’re keen to check back next month for the second edition, the topic we’re focusing on is films with great soundtracks!
